Have a look at what our young readers and parents thought of the book!
"This has to be the most comforting book for any child who has lost a dog. The sense of loss for any child losing a dog is so great and often not fully appreciated. The book takes on a whole different perspective of how to deal with this in a way that I have never been able to explain in words before when it has happened in our family. My son was so uplifted at the thought of Lilo being happy where she is now and knowing that she is not sad and scared and that our pets are still living their best lives while they wait for us in the happy place which is rainbow bridge. A wonderful story and the colouring pages at the end were also a huge hit. Highly recommended to any family going through this!" - Joanna (Cayden's mum)
"What an amazing and well thought our book, written from the heart about precious Lilo crossing the rainbow bridge. It certainly stirred up some emotions in our house as we remember our dogs who have also crossed the bridge. Thank you for sharing your story Lauren" - Amanda (Jessica's mum)
"The book made me sad at first but then happy. I was sad because Lilo had to leave her family but then she was so happy running in the meadows and having her peanut butter and seeing all of her old friends again. And now I know that when our dogs go to the bridge they are happy and watching over us down here still and waiting to see us again one day but they aren't sad" - Cayden (9 years old)
"Until We Meet Again, Lilo is a book to understand what happens to our fur babies when they cross the rainbow bridge. Hopefully something Blaine doesn't need to go through for a long time but we loved this book and it's definitely an important message for him to understand" - Caitlin (Blaine's mum)
“I absolutely sobbed my heart out when reading this with the boys at the weekend. Ruairi had a good cry too, I never expected him to either. I think he finally let out the grief of losing Ralph and Mila. Thank you for putting into words what it’s like to lose our furry babies” - Karin (Ruairi + Caelan’s mum)
"Lauren has clearly put so much thought into this book as it uses soft language for helping kids understand doggies going over the rainbow bridge. We love the warm and colourful illustrations. You can tell it came straight from the heart - such a talented author" - Monika (Maya's mum)
